I've decided to abandon Vista for reason, as Gandalf might say, and return to some semblance of functioning operating system for at least 3 months, possibly 7, while the kinks are ironed out of the version that I got as Beta 2 Community Technology Preview (CTP) Build 5270.

Salvation is in sight! Well, OK, no it isn't, but if I don't start seeing some results soon, I will uninstall Vista and put XP Pro back on Hirilonde, so there, nyah.

Well, it's now old news that Windows Vista has been delayed until 2007, making it 5.5 years between releases. As I said here, the dead hulk of a software giant formerly known as Microsoft deserves the drubbing it's getting, and there seem to be plenty of Microserfs who agree.

I was not angry since I installed Windows Vista until this moment. Vaporware makes you feel all right, even smug, when you adopt it 6 months early. First of all, I would just like to say that a permanent account on LiveJournal is the best $150 I ever spent. I composed this entry in my office and forgot to save it, and I thought I would have to wait until tomorrow morning to go and retrive it.
